The finished product

About 3 days ago we completed our editing. Having polished off the sound, cutting the scenes together and sorting out eh dialogue our film, Bio Toxic, has finally been completed. My evaluation has recently been finished, with references to other, similar pieces and i have come to the conclusion that the film has met its aims. Despite my initial unhappiness at the final piece, i have realised that i can not do much better with the limited resources that i have available and i feel that i have overcome some of the most important of challenges.

Over all i am happy with the first 2 minutes of Bio Toxic.

Sound

We've just finished editing the sound track for Biotoxic. The music used was 'With a heavy heart' by 'Does it offend you, yea?' .The sounds used really help to build the tension. We cut the song in half to make sure that the tension building sounds and crescendo, originally in the middle of the song, was at the start of our film. However, this led to the song being too short for the film. to counter this, we cut and copied the versus of the song to make it last longer, but their is a slight error where we looped the music. We plan on recording some new diagetic noises to cover this up. we need to add some more scenes, but so far the film is coming along nicely.

Script 3 but filming is done.

We have just finished filming. We had footage from 2 separate days, and have compiled the best. Unfortunately, the area we were planning to film was demolished. Luckily we had planned for this, and instead filmed in a new location, resulting in script number 2. However, out luck was not improving. The second day of filming was hindered when our location was completely flooded. Thanks to some expert editing, we managed to scrape it together to appear as if their is movement, when in fact, we filmed in a very small area. The resulting footage is of high quality though and we are very happy with it. The next step is editing.

Pre Production completed!

We finished our pre preduction last week. After making several changes to the script and storyboards we have hopefully established a watertight piece of preperation for our intro. The film, Biotoxic, will be beggining filming over the christmas period.

Pre-production

I have just started our second peice of coursework. I am working with another up and coming director, Josh De Almeida, and we have come up with several good ideas between us. We settled on a Zombie movie, Biotoxic. we have written a hundred word synopses of the film and even made a storyboard and script for the first 2 minutes or so of the film.

We havent found the actors yet as we are looking to find the right people. The fact their is minimal diolaouge means acting is very important in convaying the emotions of the characters and it takes someone with great skill to put that across.

We hope to start filming within a week.

1st bit of real work

We just completed our first real bit of work in Media.
Because I joined the class late I missed out on all the hard stuff and only had to do the fun stuff. It was great.

The group I joined first had to make a story board for a basic scene, someone walking down a corridor, entering a room and having a conversation. pretty simple stuff.

I joined the group when we moved onto the actual filming. We used several of the angles decided in the story board, but added a few last minute. We completed the filming in under an hour. Pretty good for our first time.

Next came editing. This was the fun bit.It took a while to get used to the program but when we did, it was fun. after several hours of mucking around we finally came out with a 40 second long video. I think its pretty good.
